How to Find the Right Acura Paint Code

Finding your exact Acura paint code is the best way to get a perfect color match. Most Acura vehicles have their paint code in one of these locations:

Acura paint codes are easy to find as they are usually on the color tag on the driver or passenger door jamb. Many Acuras have a factory code which makes a difference in the color (see below). The following two images are examples of where to find your Acura paint code:

Example 1 - Acura Color Code and Factory Code:
Acura Color Code and Factory Code Locations on an Acura Color ID tag

The illustration above is what a typical Acura color ID Tag looks like. In this example, the color code is "NH583M" and the factory code is "B". This color code corresponds to "Vogue Silver Metallic Clearcoat" which is a color used on Integra's and EL's from 1995-2000. Not all Vogue Silver Metallics are identical, so when you order Acura touch up paint from us, it is important to specify your factory code so we can match your specific color.

Example 2 - Acura Paint Code on Driver or Passenger Door Jamb:
Acura Paint Codes

In the image above, the color code is "B-89P". On our website, it would be listed as "B-89P-A" since the factory code is "A".

The typical Acura color code format is:

NH-583M
This code corresponds to Vogue Silver Metallic Clearcoat

Same Color Code, Different Name

Acura, like all manufacturers, uses the exact same color across many models and then will have a different color name for each model. It's the same paint! This is why the Acura color code is so important to order the correct Acura paint.

For example, the Acura paint code NH-583M above is for Vogue Silver Metallic Clearcoat. It could also be called Silver Clearcoat, Light Silver Clearcoat, etc. depending on what the marketing department decided to call it.

Acura Factory Codes

If your Acura has a factory code, it is located in the lower right corner of the color tag. Take a look at the first Acura paint code example image above. We would list that code as "B-89P" on our website. However, since there is also a factory code "A" on the lower right side of the color tag, you would select "A" when ordering. You must enter your Acura factory code if it is present since leaving it out when you order will result in the wrong paint being sent. If you do not see a factory code on your Acura color tag, use the eleventh digit of your VIN when ordering.

Many Acura vehicles do not have a factory code. Again, enter the 11th digit of your VIN when ordering Acura touch up paint so we can properly formulate your paint. If you have an Acura factory code and it does not match the 11th digit of your VIN, use the factory code on your color tag.

Please note:
On some Acura color tags the factory designation is part of the color code. For example, if your Acura paint code reads B-89P-3, then the -3 is your factory code and MUST be entered in the factory code box on the order form.
